Nursing, B.S.N.

The Kirkhof College of Nursing (KCON) traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Grand Valley State University focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Students are prepared to provide nursing interventions for individuals, families, and communities at a beginning, generalist level and will complete five semesters of clinical coursework.

Visit the program website for more information.

This program requires a secondary admission process.

Program Overview

The undergraduate curriculum is based on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's (AACN) Essentials which provides the educational framework for the preparation of our baccalaureate-prepared nurses. It focuses on the student's role development as a provider of care, a designer/manager/coordinator of care, and a member of the profession.

Students participate in clinical rotations in areas such as medical/surgical nursing, mental health nursing, obstetrics nursing, pediatric nursing, adult/older adult nursing, and community/population health nursing.

Students who are admitted to the university as a degree-seeking undergraduate student may apply to the program through the competitive admission process. For more on the traditional BSN program, visit 961381.com/kcon.
